The Halston Aparthotel

Carlisle’s luxury aparthotel combines the very best of self-catering accommodation with the comforts of a hotel. The Halston Aparthotel is located on Warwick Road, and is a five-minute walk to Carlisle train station and a ten-minute walk to the Lanes Shopping Centre.

It is one of Carlisle’s newest hotels and opened in 2014. This award winning accommodation is housed in the city’s former post office, in an impressive neo-classical building that dates back to 1916.

Accommodation

There are 16 apartments housed within the Halston, all tastefully decorated in a modern style. Studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and penthouse apartments (with two bedrooms) are available. All are equipped with kitchen facilities that include everything you need for a self-catered stay, including a dishwasher. Complimentary tea and coffee is provided, and Penthouse Apartments include a Nespresso coffee machine.

All apartments have bathrooms with showers, and the larger apartments have bedrooms with en-suite facilities. Complimentary toiletries are provided. In the lounge areas you will find a large LED HD TV with comfortable seating, and each apartment has a dining table with seating.

Restaurants and Bars

Although you can create meals in the comfort of your own apartment, the Halston is an Aparthotel, so you can opt to eat in the hotel’s bistro bar, Barton’s Yard. The bistro bar is open daily for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner and has a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. Breakfast options include a full English, as well as international options. There are also takeaway options, or you can opt for a breakfast hamper to be provided with your apartment.

Tapas and dishes inspired by culinary traditions from around the world are available throughout the day. Afternoon tea is served between 3pm and 5pm and must be booked in advance. For special occasions with 15 or more people, Barton’s Yard offers cocktail classes with the option to include items from the menu.

Additional Facilities and Services

Due to the historic nature of the building it was not possible to fit each apartment with laundry facilities, however, the Halston does have a laundry service for an additional charge. Dogs can be accommodated in the hotel but you must contact the hotel directly before you book to request a dog friendly apartment.

The Halston has five function rooms available for various types of events, including weddings and conferences for up to 300 people. The facilities are equipped with top of the range audio visual equipment and projector screens. Dining packages are available and there are corporate discounts offered for those looking for accommodation for the event.

The Winter Spa is located within the Halston, and offers a number of different treatments, with packages available. The spa also has a hair and beauty salon.

Celebrations at the Halston

The Halston has become a popular venue for New Year’s Eve celebrations since it first opened in 2014. The ticketed event is open to residents and non-residents alike, and includes a three-course meal in the early evening, music and other entertainment, and late night snacks to finish. You must book tickets in advance.
