Restaurants & Bars

The Lamplighter is best known as a restaurant and has been acclaimed numerous times in the almost 30 years that it has been open. The restaurant prides itself on using the very best of locally sourced produce and the menu has a distinctly homely feel, with comforts such Lancashire Suet Pudding. The Lakeland steaks with a choice of sauces are particularly popular, and vegetarian dishes are available. Well behaved children can eat for free before 6.30pm from a dedicated children’s menu if accompanied by a main eating adult. Finish off with a platter of local cheeses and chutneys. On Sundays, a “Family” Sunday lunch is available where the meat is provided ready for you to carve with a selection of side dishes for you to help yourself to. You must book this by 6pm on the Friday before to enable the restaurant to prepare your chosen joint of meat.

Cooked and continental breakfasts are served each morning in the lounge and terrace for both hotel residents and members of the public, with the cost of breakfast included in the room rate. Light lunches are also served in the lounge. Both the lounge and the restaurant have bars that serve a good selection of local ales, gins, whiskeys, cocktails, wines and more.
