Thornbank Guesthouse

Furthermore, a walk from Thornbank to the jetty at Bowness-On-Windermere for the Windermere steamers will take just twenty minutes, and these will take you to various attractions around the lake. Windermere train station is also within a twenty minute walk, so guests can ditch the car all together if preferred.

Accommodation

This family run bed and breakfast hosts 8 bedrooms that are delightfully presented with richly coloured fabrics and feature walls that create an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. There are five rooms with king size beds that are of a good size. There is one small double room with the size of the room reflected in the prize. There is one ground floor twin room, and one triple room with three single beds in the attic room ideal for friends travelling together.

For families, there is one triple room with a double bed and a single bed. All rooms are equipped with en-suite showers, complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer, a flat screen television, a hospitality tray with biscuits, and free Wi-Fi. In addition, all rooms are supplied with an information folder put together by the owners with detailed information about the area including maps and suggested walking routes.

Restaurants & Bars

There is no restaurant or bar at Thornbank, but breakfast is supplied each morning for guests. Cooked and continental options are available with plenty of choice. The guesthouse does request that guests pre-order their breakfast the night before in order to reduce waste. 

For an additional charge, Thornbank will provide a packed lunch for guests who are heading out for the day, and special dietary requirements can be catered for. The guesthouse is within walking distance of a good number of cafés, pubs and restaurants and the owners are happy to recommend places for guests to eat.
