Without a doubt the most famous place within the Lake District National Park, Windermere, including the smaller town of Bowness-on-Windermere, is the absolute perfect base for your getaway holiday. Within the two towns, there are plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants and attractions with the famous Lake Windermere taking centre stage as England's largest lake.
