Bring the outdoors indoors at Kong Adventure Centre in Keswick. Featuring climbing walls, tunnels, play areas, and even an ice wall, there is something here to suit almost all ages. The centre is home to a range of structures that will develop your rock climbing skills, whether it be bouldering on low levels, or ascending up the 12-metre-tall tower using ropes.

Supervised climbing sessions are available, as well as private one-to-one lessons. For younger children (aged 3 and above), there is a “hard play” area with low level features to climb on or through, whilst babies and toddlers can safely play in the small soft play area.

Highlights

You can pay to use the centre facilities, which are suitable for those with climbing experience, or you can book onto one of the climbing sessions. Children’s climbing sessions are held almost daily, and pre-booking is required. A qualified instructor will look after your child and, if you choose, you can relax in the café where you will find a great selection of light lunches and snacks. The café is also adjacent to the hard play area, so your younger children can burn off some energy whilst you watch in comfort with a hot beverage.

In addition to the climbing walls, there is an indoor caving facility where you can experience caving in a safe way. For adults and children over the age of 12, there is also the Ice Wall, made with real ice, that you can ascend using ice picks and ropes. The centre also has a shop selling a fantastic range of outdoor gear.
