Macdonald Swan Hotel
The Macdonald Swan Hotel is a beautiful former coaching inn built in 1650 and is one of the oldest hotels in the Lake District. It was immortalised in 1805 when William Wordsworth, perhaps the Lake District’s most famous ever resident mentioned it in his poem ‘The Waggoners’. The hotel sits on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Grasmere and nestles in the stunning Cumbrian countryside and enjoys spectacular views over the fells.
With direct access to the breath-taking countryside, comfortable rooms, and an inviting restaurant and bar, it is the perfect base for anyone wishing to enjoy the delights of the wonderful Lake District National Park.
