Rothay Manor resides in a grand Grade II listed Regency building that was originally built in 1823 and is surrounded by attractive landscaped gardens. Its location makes it perfect for enjoying all the Lake District has to offer being just 15-minutes walk from the wonderful Lake Windermere and 10-minutes from the bustling Lakeland town of Ambleside.

All 23 rooms at Rothay Manor are individually designed and decorated and offer guests a relaxing and comfortable stay. There are 8 different room categories with 4 dog friendly rooms available for an added fee per night that have direct access to a private courtyard. The hotel provides dogs with dog beds, a towel, a bowl, treats and poo bags. Dogs are welcome in the drawing room and in the snug Brathay Room should you wish for them to join you at dinner. Additionally, a couple of the suites offer an outdoor terrace with a private hot tub.

Restaurant and Bar

The hotel’s restaurant is popular and has a well deserved reputation as serving some of the best food in the area. There are interesting and varied breakfast, lunch and dinner options and all dishes are cooked fresh on the premises by the experienced catering team.

The hotel's restaurant also offers a 3-tier afternoon tea experience, as well as a traditional Sunday lunch. There is a also a comfortable lounge bar area for guests to relax with a drink, whilst looking out over the hotel’s beautiful gardens.
