December is a magical time here in the Lake District, as businesses and attractions bring out the decorations and light up for Christmas. Many of this month’s events are, of course, focused around the festive season, with the man in red making so many appearances inquisitive young minds might start to question his legitimacy!

There are Christmas shows and concerts, craft workshops, and even a good old fashioned ceilidh. In addition, there are Christmas markets galore with added festive spirit making for a more pleasant Christmas shopping experience. However, if you prefer to avoid all mentions of the big “C” word until the absolute last minute, you will still find plenty of non-festive events taking place this month, including a rally and a poetry workshop.
