This year, in 2022, April weekend falls in the middle of the month with Easter Sunday taking place on the 17th. It means that there are a fair few Easter themed activities taking place in the run up to Easter with loads of Easter crafts, egg hunts, visits from the Easter bunny and more. Check out what's on in the Lake District this coming April and your book any tickets early to avoid disappointment.

St John's Hospice Choir Concert & Kendal Colour Dash

The wonderful local charity, St John's Hospice, is hosting two events in the month of April. The first, taking place on the 8th of April at the Brewery Arts in Kendal, is called Together in Harmony and sees the St John's Hospice Choir and the Fellside Singers come together for an evening of contemporary music in aid of the charity.
The second is called the Kendal Colour Dash and will be happening on Sunday the 24th of April. The event is a 5k (3 mile) fun run where paint is thrown at you at various stations. It isn't at all competitive or even timed, so just a bit of fun and people can feel free to walk at their own pace. They'll have music, entertainment, food, and plenty of paint. Each participant will receive a plain white t-shirt so they can cover it in colour.
Photography Workshop Taster, "Forest Bathing" Sesssions & Full Moon Women's Circle in Whinlatter Forest Park

Whinlatter Forest of course offers an array of outdoor activities, as well as organised events in the month of April, such as a photography workshop taster, two "forest bathing" sessions where you can connect with nature, and a women's full moon circle to harness the energy of the full moon and meditate! Easter EGGstravaganza at Walby Farm Park

The Walby Farm Park is having an Easter EGGstravaganza this April from the 2nd up until the 19th. Though they mention it on their website, though you'll want to check out their Facebook event for more complete details.
The farm park is expecting 600 lambs to be born between March and April and say visitors may even be able to get to see one being born, which would be rather exciting. There are also chicks and ducklings due to be born so plenty of opportunities to meet baby animals and experience the magic of new life! Additionally, children will receive a golden spoon upon arrival to decorate in the Chocolatiers Kitchen and will be able to take their chocolate treat home with them.
There will also be an 'eggs-cavation' in the sand pit, an Easter Egg Hunt Challenge and visits from the Easter Bunny himself from Friday the 15th to Monday the 18th. ALL the Easter fun!
