It’s been a while since we last produced a What’s On guide for the Lake District and the last few months have certainly been difficult for so many people and organisations in so many different ways. Whilst it’s fair to say that we haven’t returned to normality here in Cumbria, the hospitality sector across the Lake District has once more opened its doors to visitors and we’re certainly happy to see everyone back and enjoying this rich landscape once more.

A lot has changed. Several attractions, particularly indoor venues, have remained closed and we’re not sure when many of them will reopen. Others have reopened but with strict hygiene measures and limited entry that means that you may have to book your visit in advance. Cafés and restaurants have reopened, but again, many are operating a booking only system with limited numbers.

We’re now at the point where almost all of the large scale events that were planned for 2020 in the Lake District have been cancelled. However, some smaller events are now able to go ahead and we’ve listed them here. The information here was correct at the time of publication, but as you are probably aware, the situation changes swiftly during a pandemic, so do always check with the organiser before you travel.
