LEGO® Lake District

LEGO® Lake District

LEGO® Lake District will be on from 1st July to 8th October this year and involves a 10 square metre replica of the Lake District made completely in LEGO® bricks! The artist, Jon Tordoff, used approximately 200,000 pieces and 60 boards to create the project. The exhibit will take place at the Windermere Jetty Museum and costs £9 for adults with Lakeland Arts members and children under 5 going for free.

Halima Cassell: Reflections

Halima Cassell: Reflections

Halima Cassell: Reflections is an exhibition taking place from 8 July 2023 up until 1st January 2024 at Blackwell the Arts & Crafts House in Bowness-on-Windermere. The exhibition features artist, Halima Cassell, showcasing her large collection of ceramic sculptures, drawings, collages and wallpapers. The exhibit costs £9 for adults and is free for Lakeland Arts members, as well as children until 5 years of age.

Beetham Nurseries Summer Festival

Beetham Nurseries Summer Festival

Beetham Nurseries is throwing a summer festival this July from Thursday the 27th to Sunday the 30th. The festival will entail local stall holders, live music, raffles, food & drink, Tent Talks and activities for children. The event is free!

Concerteenies Performances

Concerteenies Performances

Lakeland Arts is putting on another fantastic event this July on the 30th from 11-5pm at the Windermere Jetty Museum in Bowness-on-Windermere for kids aged 3 to 7 and their parents. The Concerteenies Performances is a 45-minute music experience where your little ones will discover a love for music with performers and musical activities for kids in a relaxed environment. The cost is £7 for adults and £2 for children.

Outdoor Theatre at Muncaster Castle

Outdoor Theatre at Muncaster Castle

Muncaster Castle has two outdoor theatre performances lined up for July including Robin Hood on Wednesday, 19 July and As You Like It on Thursday, 20 July. Both performances are put on by the Three Inch Fools with comical performances that the whole family will enjoy. Tickets are £20 for adults, £10 for under 18, and free for under 5s with family discounts also available.

Summer Fun at Walby Farm Park

Walby Farm Park is hosting an array of fun summer activities from the 19th of July all the way up until the 6th of September. Expect extra fun, games and activities to keep those little ones entertained during the school holidays. Perfect for children and families, Walby Farm Park has an outdoor play area, animals that you can meet up close, an indoor play area with slides and ball pits, a café, go karting – just to name some of their activities!

There are a huge variety of summer agricultural shows taking place in the Lake District, each with their own schedule of events, but largely following the same premise – highlighting the agricultural and farming side of the area. Expect livestock and animal demonstrations, farm equipment displays, trade fairs, food & drink stalls, competitions and live entertainment. Westmorland Dales Festival

Westmorland Dales Festival

The Westmorland Dales Festival is taking place between Saturday 29 July and Sunday 30 July, celebrating landscape, heritage and people in and around Kirby Stephen and the Westmorland Dales. On the Saturday, there will be guided walks, as well as a cheese making demonstration, an open day in Jubilee Park, and a guided coach tour of the Westmorland Dales. On the Sunday, there will be a craft & food market, live music, vintage tractors, entertainment for the family and much more. The event runs from 9am-8pm on the Saturday & 10am-4pm on the Sunday.

Outdoor Theatre at Brantwood

Brantwood is the former home of John Ruskin on the picturesque shores of Coniston Water. Each summer, they put on a series of outdoor theatre performances with this July’s line-up including: Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen on Thursday 20th July and Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare on Thursday the 27th. Performances begin at 6.30pm in Brantwood’s Lakeside meadow. Tickets for adults cost £17 and children aged 4-16 years of age cost £8.50 with younger kids going for free.

Lake District Summer Music begins toward the end of July on the 28th and goes until the 6th of August. During the festival, exciting young talent comes together to learn and practice music with plenty of concerts available to the general public.

Ruskin's Lamps: The Seven Lamps of Cumbria

Ruskin's Lamps

From the 14th of July to the 20th of August, Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin, will be showcasing a new exhibit entitled Ruskin's Lamps: The Seven Lamps of Cumbria. The display explores Ruskin’s work, Seven Lamps of Architecture, and is a seven-part interactive music exhibition.
