Keswick Film Festival

The Keswick Film Festival is taking place between 24-27 March. Names such as Clio Barnard, Jacques Audiard, François Ozon, Joanna Hogg and Julia Ducournau are all listed in the line-up. Tickets are £70 for adults and £35 for students and under-16s.
Words by the Water

Words by the Water is an annual literary event that is taking place this March between the 15th and the 20th at the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick. The event will see hundreds of writers and festivalgoers come together bounded by their love of reading and writing. Strictly Come Dying Murder Mystery Show

At the Skiddaw Hotel on Thursday the 10th of March, there is a murder-mystery dinner taking place at 7.30pm with the theme of Strictly Come Dancing - murder edition! The dinner costs £32.50 and includes two-courses. To book, you'll need to get in touch with the hotel itself.
Craft Sessions at Quirky Workshops & Cowshed Creative

The Cowshed Creative is re-opening this March with a good selection of workshops available, including making mosaics and needle felt art. Additionally, Quirky Workshops has a myriad of different courses available from making handbags to stained glass windows. The courses vary in price and its necessary to book in advance to get a place.
Blackwell Spring Craft Fair

Blackwell - the Arts & Crafts house, is hosting a spring craft fair on the 5 and 6 March between 10am and 4pm each day. It's just £6 for adults, £5 for students, £3 for children 5+ and free for younger children. Here you will find contemporary craft makers displaying their handmade jewellery, textiles, ceramics, glass and wooden wares.
National Trust Guided Walks & Bird Watching

The National Trust are hosting some guided walks in the month of March with locations including Sizergh Fell on Monday the 7th from 11am to 1pm, Helsington Church on the same day from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, as well as a Hawfinch bird watch on Friday the 25th of March from 8am to 10am.
Windermere Science Festival

The Windermere Jetty Museum is hosting the first ever Windermere Science Festival this month on the 19th and 20th. The weekend will involve family friendly science related activities, performances, talks, workshops and science demonstrations. Lost in Cumbria: Blackwell Arts

Lost in Cumbria is an imaginative art installation by local artist and activist, Maddy Humberstone. The installation explores the plight of Cumbria’s endangered and extinct species and takes place at Blackwell - the Arts & Crafts house. Tickets start from £9.90.
