June is when things really kick off in the Lake District in terms of events with the first country show – Country Fest, Crooklands – taking place over the May day weekend, followed by the Cumberland Show the following Saturday. Other events of note include the Keswick Beer Festival in Goodison Park and the Festival of the Lake at the Windermere Jetty Museum.

The First Country Shows

June 2025 Country Shows

The first two Country Shows are taking place at the end of May and beginning of June, including the Country Fest, Crooklands from the 31st of May to the 1st of June and the Cumberland Show on the 7th of June. If you have never been to an agricultural show, you are in for a treat. Both shows celebrate rural life in the Lake District and are family-friendly events with live animals, trade stalls, entertainment, food and drinks.

The Grasmere Gallop

The Grasmere Gallop is happening between the 31st of May and the 1st of June and is an epic outdoor weekend with a number of running events, including a 5.7km ‘fun run’, 10km trail run or Nordic walk, 17km trail run, a full marathon, and a ‘teddy dash’ for kids under 5 years old.

The Keswick Beer Festival is taking place in Goodison Park from the 6th to the 7th of June. The festival will have a line-up of live music, along with a great beer selection!

Lakes Classic Vehicle Show

The Lakes Classic Vehicle Show is hosted by the Windermere and Ambleside Lions Club and is taking place on Sunday the 15th of June (Father’s Day!) at Ayland Recreation Ground, Staveley, Near Kendal, LA8 9LN. Check out classic vehicles all in support of the charity, St John’s Hospice.

Hutton-in-the-Forest have a number of events in the month of June, including:

Dalemain – June Events

Dalemain June Events

Dalmain is hosting a Plant Fair on Sunday 8 June from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Here you can purchase plants for your garden from independent artisan growers and get advice about what to plant.

There is also a charity hike for Macmillan on Saturday 14 June 6.50am to 6.50pm. The charity hike will have both full and half marathon hikes and will begin from the Dalemain Estate Office. Hikers will receive food along the way, as well as a glass of bubbly and a medal when they complete the hike.

Windermere Jetty Museum - Festival of the Lake
