The Fell Pony Society - Breed Show

The Fell Pony Society – Breed Show will take place at Dalemain on Sunday 10th August from 10am to 4pm. The event takes place at West Park and is a family friendly day celebrating one of Cumbria’s most treasured animals.
Cumbria Classic and Motorsport Show

Wigton Moto Club will be hosting the Cumbria Classic and Motorsport Show at Dalemain from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 17th August. The show will feature Italian cars and rally cars, autotests, traders, food, crafts, and car clubs.
Events at Hutton-in-the-Forest

Hutton-in-the-Forest has a number of events taking place this August, including:
- Sunday 3rd August: Red Cross Garden Open Day
- Sunday 10th August: Estate Walk
- Saturday 30th August: The Three-Inch Fools present Elizabeth I (outdoor theatre)
Lake District Sheep Dog Trials

The Lake District Sheep Dog Trials will take place on Thursday 7th August from 10am at Hill Farm, Ings, LA8 9QQ. The trials run all day, plus there are 3 hound trails, a dog show at 1pm open to all, craft stands, as well catering. Lake District Music Summer Festival: Leo the Lion

The Windermere Jetty Museum is hosting family friendly musical performances on Sunday the 3rd of August, featuring Leo the Lion. The performances take place at 11.30am, 2pm, and 3.30pm and last around 45 minutes.
Arts & Crafts Houses Tour at Blackwell

Blackwell is putting on tours of their arts & crafts house with two happening in August on Thursday the 14th and Thursday the 21st. The tours take place between 1.30pm and 5pm, beginning at Broad Leys and ending at Blackwell. The tour concludes with a cream tea in the Tea Room, which overlooks Windermere.
Sketch and Stroll: Guided Drawing Tour

Sketch and Stroll is a guided drawing tour taking place at Abbot Hall Art Gallery on the 2nd of August from 10.30am to 12pm. No sketching experience is necessary and everyone is invited to take part as a way to connect with the Abbot Hall displays.
Solfest

Solfest is a music festival taking place between the 22nd and 24th of August at the North Lakes Country Park near Silloth, CA7 4NQ.
August Agricultural Shows

The bulk of the summer’s Agricultural Shows take place in the month of August with 20 scheduled, starting with the Cockermouth Show on Saturday the 2nd of August. Each show varies in what they offer but typically they feature things like farm animals, tractors, dog shows, food and drink stands, trade stalls, some type of entertainment, like fairground rides for the bigger festivals or live music. Additionally, some even offer sports competitions, like the traditional Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling.
