The Fox & Hounds (Ennerdale)
Tucked away in a quiet and remote corner of the Lake District, the Fox & Hounds is a delightful inn, once owned by the local community. Now under new management, the pub is located in Ennerdale Bridge and is around 30 minutes by foot from the shore of Ennerdale water and the start of the wild Ennerdale valley. Inside, this traditional Lakeland inn features flagstone floors, real fires, and exposed beams all contributing to a cosy and friendly atmosphere.
Outside, there is a delightful beer garden accessed via a small footbridge over a stream that runs alongside the pub. The pub is not far from the coast to coast walking route and happily welcomes walkers, dogs, and families with children.

The Fox & Hounds offers hand pumps for real ale and a changing selection of draught, usually sourced from local breweries. It also stocks a good choice of premium lagers, beers, and ciders. Additionally, there is also a small wine list and selection of gins.
The menu features pub favourites, such as steak and Cumberland ale pie, beer battered cod, Cumberland sausages and mash - just to name a few. There is a decent range of choices for vegetarians and vegans, as well, including dishes, such as burgers, chillis & curries, as well as a children's menu with popular kid-friendly dishes. Other Features
Dogs are welcome throughout the pub and there is a spacious beer garden at one side of the pub. There is a stream that runs alongside the beer garden and small children will need to be carefully supervised, as there is a small drop into the stream.
Accommodation
There are just three rooms available at the Fox & Hounds so you won’t feel overcrowded here. Rooms are spacious and feature wooden furniture that is in keeping with the period nature of the property. There is one family room that features a large double bed and the space for an additional z-bed. There is one double room and one twin.
All rooms have en-suite facilities and benefit from complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Two rooms benefit from views over the village.
