The Inn at Ravenglass
On the far western side of the Lake District, the pretty coastal village of Ravenglass attracts a large crowd of tourists thanks to its heritage railway line and its connection with mainline railway services. The Inn at Ravenglass is a popular and lively pub that overlooks the estuary where boats are moored, giving it one of the most tranquil views in the Lake District, especially at sunset.
As a coastal pub it unsurprisingly has access to some of the freshest seafood available and this dominates the menu. The pub is owned by the Muncaster Castle estate and is ideally located for an evening meal after a visit to the castle.
Food & Drink

The Inn at Ravenglass has a wide choice of Cumbrian brewed real ales, with up to five available (less in the winter months), all sourced from Cumbrian breweries, including the Hawkshead, Bowness Bay, and Hesket Newmarket breweries.
The wine list has been carefully selected to offer choices to suit most tastes and budgets, and the bar staff can assist with recommendations for wines to accompany your meal. The pub also stocks an excellent array of gins, whiskies, and other spirits, as well as a number of soft drinks for those who prefer something non-alcoholic.
The Menu
It’s worth noting that bar and food service times do vary with the seasons so if you are planning on eating here it is best to check in advance of your visit. During the peak summer period, the pub can get very busy so advanced booking is recommended. The menu has a strong focus on seafood, with fresh seafood being supplied daily to the kitchen.
You can expect to find items, such as scallops, monk fish, and crab on the menu, as well as hearty favourites, such as roasted pork belly. There are daily specials that offer up seasonal alternatives, and the inn features a children’s menu that includes all the usual favourites.
Other Features
The Inn at Ravenglass has a small number of benches at the front of the pub that overlook the estuary. The views here are spectacular around sunset. The pub welcomes well-behaved dogs in the bar area only. Dogs are not permitted in the dining room. The pub hosts a monthly quiz night, usually on a Saturday night, with the date advertised on their Facebook page.
