February is relatively quiet in the Lake District in terms of events, so we recommend taking advantage of the quiet fells by going on a fell walk, perhaps followed by lunch next to a roaring fireplace in one of the many cosy Lake District pubs. Be sure to start early to make use of the daylight. And, if you're not a confident outdoors person, you should consider joining one of the many guided fell walks, led by experienced locals who know the area inside and out!

Dark Sky Canoeing with Path to Adventure
Path to Adventure are hosting five Dark Sky Canoeing evenings in the month of February where you can canoe under the stars. The guided tour starts in the daylight hours to allow you to get used to canoeing before the sun sets and will involve a stop for a hot brew along the way in a secluded bay. The Magic of Lambing at Walby Farm Park
This February Half-Term, kids can watch the magic of lambing at Walby Farm Park and meet lambs who are just days old. There will also be a Lamb Cam on their website for those who cannot visit in person.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust Conservation Days
There may not be a lot going on this month in terms of events but you can always count on the Cumbria Wildlife Trust to have Conservation Days running. These are fabulous days out where you can meet like-minded people and help the trust with their conservation efforts. Days out vary, but may be anything from cutting back brambles, repairing fences, and other practical tasks. Timing varies by date, the cost is free, and they ask you to bring your own packed lunch.
