Maryport Activity Centre: Clip 'n Climb & Soft Play

Maryport Activity CentreThe Maryport Activity Centre, previously known as The Wave Centre, is home to a brilliant, fun climbing experience for all the family. Unlike traditional indoor climbing walls that are designed to replicate conditions you might experience on the fells, Clip ‘n Climb centres feature brightly coloured obstacles and walls with unique challenges – making it an innovative and fun form of indoor climbing.

There are mirrored walls with lights, walls with handles, and a series of pillars to step up, reaching the top. Furthermore, next to Clip 'n Climb you’ll find a three-tier soft play area, perfect for keeping kids entertained – and exhausted! The soft play is suitable for children up to 10 years old, with slides, tunnels and plenty of room to clamber and explore. Grown-ups in the family will also appreciate the spacious gym and the range of group exercise classes that are available. Fitness classes must be booked in advance, via Everyone Active’s website or app.

Highlights

Maryport Activity Centre

Traditional indoor climbing walls might seem a little intimidating, especially for younger children, which is why the brightly coloured features in the Clip 'n Climb make this an ideal attraction for families. Of course, safety is paramount, and your session will start with a safety briefing. All safety equipment is provided and staff are available to help if required.

There is plenty for adults and children alike to enjoy here. The activity is suitable for children aged 4 and up, but younger children may struggle with some aspects. However, they will no doubt enjoy attempting to climb some of the walls, with enough lower level obstacles to keep those who are less confident occupied.

And for the kids who aren’t quite up for the challenge of the climbing walls yet – or who just fancy some free-form silliness – the soft play area gives them the chance to burn off their energy in a fun, safe environment. Once you have finished climbing, you can refuel at the on-site café – the perfect place to enjoy a snack and a cup of tea or coffee.
