Tiny Town Carlisle

The Lake District Coast Aquarium

Suitable for children from around 18 months up until around 6-7 years old, this unique attraction opened in Carlisle in 2016, following the owner’s success with a similar attraction based in Newcastle. Tiny Town enables your child to role-play a number of different job roles in a miniature town.

There’s a police station, a café, a post office, a GP surgery, and much more. Children can don costumes and get a taste of what being a grown up is all about. The attraction has been carefully designed with the input of early years practitioners, and so is a great opportunity for your child to learn in a fun and interactive way.

Highlights

Tiny Town is all about promoting your child’s imagination. You won’t find adults pretending to be chefs or vets here, but instead, your child will find everything he or she needs to play the role themselves. Whether it be an astronaut’s costume, play food in the supermarket, or the dazzling lights of the theatre, there is something to appeal to every child here. Your child can prepare a meal in the restaurant, cut hair in the salon, or respond to an emergency in the fire station. There is sensory equipment for younger children, and a collection of play cars and other ride-on toys for the children to zoom around in.

Whilst your children play safely in the large play area, you can relax in the café, with freshly ground coffee, served alongside light lunches and sweet treats. It’s worth noting that pushchairs are not allowed within the play area, and a secure buggy park is offered in the ground floor of the building, so if you are visiting with a young baby, do consider bringing a sling carrier. Furthermore, shoes must not be worn in the play area, and, therefore, if you are wearing sandals, etc., we recommend that you bring along a pair of socks to wear in the building.
