Trampolining has seen a surge in its popularity in recent years, with many family garden corners now featuring a trampoline of some sort. It’s a low impact exercise, so is very appealing to those who struggle with traditional aerobic activity. It’s also a lot of fun, especially for children.
The Jump Mania in Workington is one of Cumbria’s newest attractions, taking advantage of the rise in popularity of the humble trampoline, and taking it to a new whole new level. Housed in a large warehouse on the outskirts of town, the centre features a network of joined up trampolines, with added features, such as ramps and basketball hoops. Visitors can jump around freestyle, exploring the whole centre.

Highlights
The Jump Mania provides a safe place for children to run and bounce around. The trampolines are interconnected, with the links covered with padding, so there is no danger of injury should you fall between the trampolines. There are bouncy ramps, smaller trampolines, and larger Olympic style trampolines for those who want to practice some twists and turns. There’s even a soft air cushion you can try and land on.
Although you can turn up on the day, you are not guaranteed a place, so pre-booking is recommended. You will need to complete a waiver form before your visit, and watch a safety video before you start, so it’s best to arrive 30-minutes before your booked time.
One-hour slots are available, and the centre holds special sessions at certain times, such as Toddler Mania for under 5’s, Messy Mania, which combines a trampolining session with messy, sensory play, Disco Mania, complete with music and lights, and Fitness classes.
Above the trampolining area, there is a café that allows parents to watch older children as they play. Younger children need to be accompanied by an adult. There is free Wi-Fi and food intolerances can be catered for. There are also baby changing facilities.
