The Brookside Inn (Windermere)
Tucked away in a quiet residential corner of Windermere, the Brookside Inn is a friendly and welcoming pub that is a favourite of the locals and has recently been refurbished. The pub is named for the babbling brook that runs behind the property, and during the summer months, the pleasant beer garden that overlooks the brook is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink or meal.
Inside, there is a bar and restaurant with the bar being dog friendly, and the pub has regular events include live music nights, a weekly quiz, and live sports screening.

This pub has three hand pulls for cask ales, all of which are supplied by Theakstons. The well stocked bar also offers a good choice of draught beers and ciders, and a wide selection of wines. For gin and vodka fans, there are a number of options, including those brewed in the Lakes Distillery.
The Brookside Inn serves food twice a day. There is a lunch time menu in operation between noon and 3pm that offers a selection of sandwiches and hot filled baguettes. In the evenings, the pub serves an extensive selection of dishes – many of which take advantage of local produce. The menu comprises of typical pub style food with favourite dishes, such as lamb shank, steak, and Theakstons ale battered fish and chips. If you prefer something lighter, you could opt for one of the Potter’s Planks, which are boards with various nibbles, including locally produced cheese.
The menu also includes an array of pizzas with the option to add extra toppings of your choosing. On Sundays, there is a full roast dinner available and diners can choose either beef or chicken. The limited children’s menu has a few classic dishes. Throughout the week, the pub has deals of the day, such as Fish & Chips Friday, with discounted rates when two people are ordering.

The Brookside Inn has a dining room and a bar room. The bar room is dog friendly, with dog treats available. The bar has tables available for dining for those wishing to enjoy a meal with their pet. The pub has a television in the bar and a subscription to Sky Sports and BT Sports, enabling it to screen some of the most popular live sporting events.
On Thursday evenings, the pub hosts a quiz night that is very popular with local residents. Outside of the pub, there is a small beer garden with several picnic tables and a brook runs alongside it.
