The Albert (Bowness-On-Windermere)
Superbly located in the centre of Bowness-On-Windermere, Robinsons Brewery owned pub, the Albert, is a very popular place to grab a bite to eat. Benefiting from a large outdoor space that is partially covered for all weather outdoor dining, this pub regularly attracts large numbers of diners and drinkers, so finding a table is tricky.
However, the pub’s delicious food and excellent selection of real ales and other drinks make it worth waiting for a space to sit down. The pub is just a short walk from Lake Windermere and also offers overnight accommodation.

Food is served daily at the Albert from noon until 9.30pm (8.15pm on Sundays). Between noon and 5pm there is a sandwich menu available offering a choice of baguettes, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and hot snacks. The main menu offers a mixture of pub classics and modern favourites. It includes a tempting steak menu, a number of burger choices and sharing platters for those who prefer to nibble. Vegetarians and those who are on gluten free diets have a good number of choices with clear labelling on the menu. The children’s menu is particularly good with eight dishes to choose from.
The Albert is owned by the Robinsons Brewery who are based in Stockport. The pub has five hand pull pumps for cask ales, all of which are supplied by the brewery, including their popular ales “Dizzy Blonde” and “Hartleys Cumbrian Way”. There is a good choice of draught beers, lagers, and ciders from well-known brands, including Guinness, Carling, Fosters, Stella Artois, Strongbow and Magners. The wine list is impressive for a pub with over 25 to choose from, including some unusual choices. The pub also has a wide selection of gins and whiskies, and you will find a good choice of soft drinks, as well as teas and coffees.

Dogs are welcome in the Albert in dedicated rooms only, meaning that those who wish to dine with their dogs can do so, but equally those who prefer to be away from dogs can find somewhere to sit. Dogs must vacate the pub by 9.30pm. To the side of the pub, there is a fairly large beer garden, part of which is covered. There is also a raised level that is dog and child free.

There are five double rooms and one family room. The modern rooms have en-suite facilities and are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, as well as televisions.
