Tower House Pool

Located just 10-miles east of Penrith, the small pool at the Tower House is available to hire exclusively, and is open for individual swim sessions at set times. This is a family-run pool, with no lifeguard on duty, so there are strict rules about minimum numbers for swimming sessions. The pool is ideal for visitors to the Lake District who are staying in the Penrith area, and want to enjoy a private swim.

Indoor Pool

The pool is heated to a delightful 30C, and is 10-metres long and 4.2 metres wide. It has a single depth of 1.1 metres, so is perfect for children and adults who lack confidence in the water. The pool benefits from a “fast lane” where a machine generates a current that can then be swum against, allowing the user to enjoy a long workout without the need for a long swimming pool. The current can be adjusted to suit your needs.

You can book the pool on a private basis for £20 per hour for two people with an additional charge of £2 per each additional person. You must have a minimum of two people in your group for safety reasons. Alternatively, the pool is available each weekday morning for individual swim sessions. Again, you must not swim alone, and you do need to book your session in advance. A 30-minute session costs £3. If you wish to use the fast lane, there is an additional charge of £5.

Other Features

The pool has a sauna room next to the main pool area. There are showers on the poolside, and chairs for spectators are located around the pool. The pool is home to a swim school, which offers swimming lessons for pre-school and school aged children, as well as adults.
