The Wilsons Arms (Coniston)
The Wilsons Arms is a charming and quirky inn lying on the Cumbria Way, close to the shore of Coniston Water in the hamlet of Torver. The inn serves real ale from a number of Cumbrian breweries and wholesome home cooked food using locally sourced produce. It boasts of a fabulous beer garden, its own deli shop, and luxury B&B accommodation.
The Sun (Coniston)
The Sun Inn is a 17th century pub with a TARDIS-like interior. The charming exterior of this pub hides a large bar, a conservatory dining room, a games room, 8 en-suite rooms, and a residents’ lounge. Real ale is available in abundance, and there is a great choice of bistro-style food available. Outside there’s a beer garden with a play area.
The Ship Inn (Coniston)
The Ship Inn is a classic English inn on the outskirts of Coniston, best accessed via a short walk from the centre of Coniston along the Cumbria Way. This Robinsons’ inn serves a full range of Robinsons real ale, as well as a good choice of wines, draught beers, and spirits. Food is served twice a day, and accommodation is available.
The Crown Inn, Coniston
The Crown Inn in Coniston is a charming traditional pub located in the centre of the village, and just a short walk from Coniston Water. The inn serves real ale provided by the Stockport based Robinsons’ brewery, over 15 different types of gin, and a great choice of food using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Accommodation is also available here.
The Newfield Inn (Seathwaite)
In a rugged and isolated corner of the Lake District, the Newfield Inn offers a cosy and welcoming respite from the elements. Serving food all day every day (winter times can vary), this small and charming 16th century inn is a fabulous place to end a long walk over the southern fells. Real ale is available here, and dogs are welcome.
The Church House Inn (Torver)
The Church House Inn in Torver is a charming and rustic inn that has been serving patrons with excellent ale and homecooked food for several centuries. Popular with local residents, the inn serves ale from local breweries and hosts occasional live music nights. This dog friendly inn has a small selection of guestrooms, including family rooms, and a small campsite.
The Blacksmiths Arms (Broughton Mills)
The Blacksmiths Arms in Broughton Mills is an ancient inn located in a part of the Lake District that is off the beaten track. Those who make the effort to get here are rewarded with some of the finest pub food in Cumbria prepared using local ingredients by an award winning chef. Locally brewed real ale is served here and dogs are welcome.
The Black Bull Inn (Coniston)
After a long day ascending The Old Man Of Coniston, fans of real ale will definitely want to head to the Black Bull Inn. Home to its own award winning micro-brewery, the pub serves a large selection of its own real ales, along with a good range of other drinks. Food is served all day with hearty portions offering good value for money.
