The Woolpack Inn (Eskdale)
One of three pubs that form the social hub of Eskdale, the Woolpack Inn is a friendly establishment that has something for everyone. Real ale is available here in abundance, and the modern menu offers a tempting array of mouth-watering dishes. This dog friendly pub has a games room, children’s play area, overnight accommodation, and is located at the foot of Hardknott Pass.
The Brown Cow Inn (Waberthwaite)
The Brown Cow Inn at Waberthwaite is a traditional English inn that has a good reputation for serving up beautifully cooked and presented food. Real ale fans are well served here, with seven local brews to choose from, and this dog and family friendly pub benefits from a pool table and a beer garden. Overnight accommodation is available.
The Bridge Inn (Santon Bridge)
The Bridge Inn at Santon Bridge is best known for hosting the World’s Biggest Liar competition. This is a traditional Lake District inn and it is located in the western edges of the national park, at the start of the Eskdale and Wasdale valleys. There is a good choice of real ale and food is available throughout the day.
The Boot Inn (Eskdale)
The Boot Inn is an elegant pub with rooms, deep in the valley of Eskdale in the western Lake District. Serving a fabulous selection of real ale, the inn jointly hosts a beer festival each year. The food here is delicious, with classic British dishes that are beautifully prepared. There is a children’s play area, and dogs are welcome.
Bower House Inn (Eskdale)
The Bower House Inn is a traditional country inn with a large number of rooms for overnight guests. The inn has a rustic and charming interior and is well attended by local residents and passing tourists, particularly for the weekly quiz and world food evening. Real ale is available on tap here, and outside there is a delightful beer garden with a play area.
