Old Friends (Ulverston)
A friendly “locals” pub, the Old Friends in Ulverston is very much a traditional drinking hole. Food is not available here, unless it’s for a pre-booked private event, but you will find real ale in abundance and some good “crack” with the town’s residents.
This is a small town centre pub with a couple of rooms, one benefiting from a real fire. With Sky Sports and a delightful beer garden this dog friendly pub is a great place to spend a few hours getting to know the locals.
Food & Drink
Food is unavailable at the Old Friends, unless it’s for pre-booked events of ten people or more. For these events, the pub can provide hot and cold buffets. The pub is a free house and serves a fabulous range of real ales, with up to six available at any given time.
Ales are normally sourced from craft breweries across the country, but recently the pub has started to brew its own ale and you can expect to find this regularly featuring behind the bar. The pub also serves a range of draught lagers and ciders, plus a small selection of wines. The pub offers great value for money when compared to other establishments.

The pub holds a quiz each Tuesday evening and dogs are welcome throughout the pub. This pub is very family friendly with a selection of board games available to play, as well as a darts board. If you prefer to make your own entertainment then there is a piano and guitar available to use.
The pub is very popular with sports fans as it has two televisions, with subscriptions to both Sky Sports and BT Sports. To the rear of the pub there is a pleasant beer garden with a grassed area.
