The Stan Laurel Inn (Ulverston)

Ulverston’s most famous son is Stan Laurel born in the town in 1890. The birth of this iconic comic actor is celebrated in the town with a museum, and the Stan Laurel Inn is named in his honour. The pub offers a warm welcome and is popular with locals and visitors alike.
Along with plenty of Laurel & Hardy memorabilia, inside this cosy and traditional pub you will find exposed beams and a log burning stove in the bar, as well as a modern dining room and a games room with a pool table and darts board. The inn is located close to the centre of Ulverston and also offers comfortable accommodation.
Food & Drink

The inn is well known for its support of local breweries and the bar has six hand pulls for real ale. Typical breweries featured here include the Ulverston Brewery, Barngates Brewery, and Jennings. If you’re not sure what to choose, the inn offers the chance to have three beers at a time, each one served in a one third pint glass.
The bar is extremely well stocked with a good choice of draught beers and ciders, and an exciting collection of whiskies, gins, and other spirits. The wine list is impressive for a reasonably small pub with around a dozen varieties to choose from.
The Menu
Food is served twice a day from Tuesday to Saturday and all day on Sunday. There is no food service on Mondays. The chef uses locally sourced and seasonal produce wherever possible and the pub is highly recommended locally as a good place to eat. The inn is ideal for fussy eaters, with a menu that offers a wide selection of dishes to suit various tastes.
Along with the usual pub favourites, you will find mouth-watering dishes, such as Teriyaki chicken, pork Forestiere, and Fisherman’s Pie. There are sandwiches and hot snacks for those with smaller appetites, as well as salads, grilled items, and plenty of options for vegetarians. Gluten free diets can be catered for, and the pub has a children’s menu. Daily specials offer additional choices, and a traditional roast dinner is served each Sunday.
