The Mill Inn (Mungrisdale) Outside

Superbly located at the foot of Blencathra, the Mill Inn can be found in the small village of Mugrisdale. This 17th century inn is named after the corn mill adjacent to the inn, which is now a holiday cottage. Today a millstone helps to prop up the bar as a reminder of the history of the buildings.

The inn is located on the C2C cycle route and during its long history it has seen many visitors, including William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge who stayed at the inn in 1803 on their way to Scotland. The Mill Inn is a Robinsons pub and serves real ale along with homecooked food, and warmly welcomes walkers, families, and dogs.
