The Kings Arms (Stainton)
Very much the hub of the local community, the Kings Arms in Stainton is a popular “local” pub on the edge of the village of Stainton which is just off the A66, west of Penrith and close to the Rheged Centre.
The pub is an ideal stopping point for those travelling to the western Lake District from the M6 as it serves a good range of food and children are welcome here. It should be noted that dogs are not permitted inside the pub.

The pub has three hand pumps for cask ales and has two regular beers: Black Sheep Best Bitter and Sharp’s Doom Bar. There is one pump that is used for a guest ale that is sourced from a variety of different breweries. The well stocked bar serves a wide choice of premium beers, ciders, wines, and spirits, and for those who prefer something non-alcoholic there is a good choice of soft drinks and teas and coffees.
The food menu at the Kings Arms has something to suit almost all tastes. At lunch time, there is the option to choose something lighter with a good number of filled baguettes, ciabattas, and sandwiches. The main menu features almost all of the pub classic dishes including curry, scampi, and gammon. There’s a pizza menu offering several different toppings, and a burger menu with a choice of extra fillings. Children are well served here with generous portions of their favourite dishes.
Other Features
The pub has a heated, covered space outdoors with several tables so if you are visiting with your dog you can get some shelter from the weather. The pub has a darts board and dominoes games with teams meeting here regularly to play.
