Hotels with Swimming Pools in the Lake District

Windermere Manor Hotel - From £55
The Windermere Manor Hotel benefits from an indoor heated swimming pool that is around 10.5 metres long, 5 metres wide, and has a maximum depth of 1.5 metres. There is a lifeguard on duty during the day. The pool has additional grab rails for improved accessibility. There is a sauna adjacent to the pool and separate male and female changing rooms. Pool towels are provided. The pool is used by a local swim school for lessons and therefore opening hours can be limited.

Beech Hill Hotel & Spa - From £115
The pool at the Beech Hill Hotel & Spa is a sleek and sophisticated affair. Lit with atmospheric lighting, the 12-metre long pool appears to be a deep and inviting blue. There are loungers around the outside of the pool and, on one side, floor-to-ceiling windows reveal stunning views of Windermere. The pool is part of the hotel’s spa facilities that include a steam room, sauna, and outdoor whirlpool bath. Spa treatments are also available.

Stonecross Manor Hotel - From £60
Stonecross Manor has recently changed ownership and the new owners have undertaken an ambitious refurbishment programme with the first phase now complete. This phase included a complete replacement of the hotel’s swimming pool. The pool is small, and not ideal for swimming lengths, but has been clearly designed with relaxation in mind, with massage jets and a waterfall feature. Large windows light up the pool room that is also fitted with a hot tub and steam room.

Grange Hotel - From £99
At the Grange Hotel, you can enjoy a delightful swimming experience in a pool that has been carefully designed to resemble a Roman bath house. Marble columns surround the small, indoor heated pool, and there is a hot tub off to one side, along with a sauna and steam room. The swimming pool and thermal facilities are complemented by a spa treatment room and two small gyms. After your swim, relax on a poolside lounger, or enjoy a treat in the lounge bar.

Netherwood Hotel and Spa - From £140
At the Netherwood Hotel there is a small swimming pool. The pool is 10 metres long, and 5 metres wide, so best for a leisurely dip rather than swimming lengths. There is a stepped access at the shallow end with a depth of 1 metre, going to 1.5 metres at the deeper end. The pool is set to be refurbished by the start of 2018, and shares a room with a hot tub and a sauna. The pool can also be hired for private swimming.

Crown Hotel Wetheral - From £84
The Crown Hotel Wetheral benefits from a superbly appointed swimming pool. The 12 metre long pool ranges in depth from 1 metre to 2 metres, and is housed in a large, light room. Around the pool you will find loungers and tables with chairs. At one end of the pool there is a smaller, separate paddling pool for young children and toddlers. The pool also shares the room with a hot tub, and is part of a larger leisure club with thermal, fitness, and beauty facilities.

Crown & Mitre Hotel - From £80
The Crown & Mitre Hotel in the centre of Carlisle is home to a swimming pool that has been fully refurbished in recent years. The pool is small, and is therefore better suited for those who prefer a leisurely swim rather than strenuous lengths. It is open from 7am until 11pm and is free for residents to use. The pool sits adjacent to a hot tub, there is poolside comfortable seating, and the room is lit by a glass ceiling.

The Glenridding Hotel - From £100
Guests at the Glenridding Hotel can enjoy exclusive access to the hotel’s swimming pool. The pool has four lanes, is around 12 metres long, and is for ideal leisurely swimming sessions. In addition, at one side of the pool there is a small toddler paddling pool. You will also find a sauna adjacent to the pool.
