Beech Hill Hotel & Spa

Located south of the town of Windermere and close to the shore of Lake Windermere, the Beech Hill Hotel and Spa is a large hotel that was purpose built in the early 1900s. Since then, it has seen a number of extensions, resulting in a quirky blend of old and new. Its latest addition is the impressive spa with its sleek, contemporary design and outdoor spa tub overlooking the lake.
The hotel is 3-miles south of Bowness-On-Windermere where you will find a ferry service that can take your car across the lake to Sawrey, giving easy access to Coniston, Grizedale Forest, and a number of attractions, including Hill Top, Beatrix Potter’s former home. South of the hotel, you will find the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, the Lakes Aquarium and more, whilst the M6 is just 30 minutes away.

Accommodation
There are 57 rooms at the Beech Hill Hotel, spread over six floors, and it’s worth noting that this hotel does not have a lift. Rooms are presented in a simple, timeless style and benefit from a number of in-room amenities including en-suite bathrooms, complimentary Gilchrest & Soames toiletries, flat screen televisions, free Wi-Fi access, and a hospitality tray. Some standard rooms have the added benefit of balconies, garden terraces or lake views.
Family rooms can accommodate either four people on two doubles, or six people on two doubles and a double sofabed and many of these rooms have private balconies. Premier rooms have additional features, such as king sized beds, spa baths with separate walk-in showers, private balconies / terraces, and fresh flowers on arrival. For an extra special stay, book into the Wordsworth Suite where you will find an antique oak bed, comfortable seating area, roll-top bath, and private garden with a hot tub.

Restaurants & Bars
Burlington’s Restaurant at the Beech Hill Hotel has been awarded two AA rosettes and serves breakfast and evening meals each day with Sunday lunches also available. The restaurant’s menu changes according to the seasons and there is a strong emphasis on locally sourced produce. A children’s menu is also available. The restaurant has sweeping views of Lake Windermere.
The Griffin Bar offers a more casual experience and serves light lunches and afternoon teas that can be enjoyed either on the lounge bar’s comfortable sofas or on the outdoor terrace overlooking the lake.
Additional Facilities & Services
The key selling point of the Beech Hill Hotel has to be its modern spa facility. The spa has a 12 metre indoor pool with atmospheric lighting. At one end of the pool, you will find a sauna and steam room. The poolroom has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto a terrace overlooking the lake. On this terrace, guests can take a plunge into the large hot tub. A full range of spa treatments are available, including massages and beauty treatments, and the hotel has a number of spa packages to choose from – many of which include afternoon tea.
The hotel holds a civil wedding licence and can provide bespoke wedding packages for up to 120 guests.
