Skiddaw Hotel
At the Skiddaw Hotel you can sit and watch the world go by in the large conservatory that looks out onto Keswick’s main high street. The hotel’s location, in the very centre of this popular tourist town, makes it an ideal base for those wanting to be close to shops and bars.
However, those looking for somewhere to stay whilst exploring the fells shouldn’t be put off by the Skiddaw Hotel’s town centre location, as there are plenty of areas that are easily accessible either by foot, boat, bus, or car. For example, the most popular start point for the route up the Lake District’s fourth highest Wainwright fell, for which the hotel is named after, is just a ten-minute drive away.

Celebrations at the Skiddaw Hotel
Keswick is one of the few places in the Lake District where you will find a public celebration of New Year’s Eve. At the Skiddaw Hotel, you can join in the party with their three-day package that starts on the 30th December with a five-course evening meal, followed by a guided moonlit stroll to Derwent Water.
On New Year’s Eve, enjoy a hearty Cumbrian breakfast, followed by some free time in the town before an evening gala dinner accompanied with live music. Just before midnight, you will be led to Keswick’s market square, where you will join with other revellers for the countdown to the new year. On New Year’s Day you will be offered a late brunch, followed by the option to join a guided walk with a meal and quiz in the evening.
