Lancrigg
Set within 30 acres of its own gardens and idyllic woodland at the base of Helm Crag, Lancrigg is an outstanding country house hotel in the heart of the Lake District. On the edge of Grasmere village and situated on the routes to the summit of Helm Crag and Easedale Tarn, this hotel is popular with walkers who are looking to reward their efforts on the fells with comfortable and elegant accommodation.
In the summer, the garden terrace provides a delightful al fresco dining experience, whilst budding writers may find inspiration in the Poet’s Bar. The building has a long history of attracting artists and writers, and it’s thought that both William and Dorothy Wordsworth found inspiration for their works in the Lancrigg grounds. The hotel’s location makes it an excellent choice for exploring much of the Lake District, with Keswick and Windermere both within a 25-minute drive.
