Ambleside Townhouse

Superbly located on the edge of Ambleside’s shopping centre, Ambleside Townhouse is a delightful bed and breakfast style accommodation that is an ideal base for those wishing to explore both the best of the shops and the fells that the Lake District has to offer. This family run guest house has free guest parking and is a 15-minute walk from the Waterhead jetty on Lake Windermere.

With many attractions accessible via the Windermere Lake Cruises, guests of the Ambleside Townhouse can leave their car safely behind and avoid much of the traffic. There are a plethora of popular walking routes within a 15-minute drive of Lakes Lodge, including the Langdales, Elterwater, and Easedale Tarn.

Accommodation

There are 12 rooms, beautifully styled with locally crafted furniture. Beds have Sealy mattresses to provide the ultimate comfort. Rooms are decorated with neutral tones, with splashes of colour from artwork and fabrics. Twin / family rooms are spacious with either one double and two singles, or two doubles, with many having enough space to accommodate a travel cot or additional rollaway bed.

All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and include complimentary toiletries, flat screen televisions with DVD players, high speed Wi-Fi, and a hospitality tray. Superior rooms have king sized beds and have been styled by a local acclaimed interior designer. These rooms benefit from additional amenities, such as bottled water, Kendal Mint Cake, and some have mini fridges. Many of these rooms have comfortable seating areas.

Restaurants & Bars

Ambleside Townhouse is a bed and breakfast style accommodation so there is no restaurant or bar. However, in the bright dining room breakfast is served each morning, buffet style. There is an excellent selection of hot and cold items that guests can help themselves to.

For guests that are heading off to the fells for the day, a packed lunch that includes a sandwich and snacks can be provided for £7.50. The guesthouse is licensed and drinks can either be enjoyed in the guestrooms or in the small lounge area.

Additional Facilities & Services

Recognising that much of the draw of the Lake District is from the opportunity to explore the great outdoors, Ambleside Townhouse has a dedicated drying room for outdoor equipment. In addition, secure cycle storage is available for guests who bring their bikes.
