Tweedies Bar and Lodge
Situated in the beautiful village of Grasmere, Tweedies Bar and Lodge (formerly known as the Dale Lodge Hotel) is one of the most popular venues in Grasmere, thanks to its lively bar and luxury styled accommodation. Family owned and run, Tweedies features 16 individually designed bedrooms, all furnished to the highest standard, as well as four luxurious ‘mews’ style rooms. This hotel was fully refurbished in 2018 and the new furnishings have been sourced from local suppliers, including Herdwick tweeds, giving the hotel’s interiors a unique look.
Foodies will the love high-class cuisine on offer, all crafted carefully by the renowned Cumbrian chef, James Goodall. Its own on-site hostelry, Tweedies Bar, is the quintessential village pub and serves a range of fine wines, real ales, and other drinks with a delicious bar menu and regular live entertainment. Accommodation
The accommodation at Tweedies Bar and Lodge is of a high class and has been fully refurbished as part of the rebranding. With a variety of types of room, all guests will enjoy a comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom, a flat screen digital TV, Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee making facilities. Various upgraded rooms are available including the hotel’s new Tweed Suites. These rooms offer additional space with king sized beds, a seating area, and a wet room, along with upgraded amenities, including soft dressing gowns and a G&T on arrival.
In addition, the Mews are a collection of four rooms with their own shared courtyard. These split level rooms have a downstairs seating area and there’s a communal hot tub outside on the patio. Guests in the Mews can also access a BBQ, bar, and private chef, making this accommodation ideal for group getaways and celebrations.
Restaurant and Bar
Award winning chef James Goodall heads up the team at Tweedies. Food can be enjoyed in the bar, or in the relaxed Lodge dining room, with the same menu available in both venues. Goodall is a passionate advocate of local and seasonal produce which features heavily on the exciting menus with dishes such as Bowland Steak, Wild Rabbit, and Cumbrian Mutton Hot Pot.
A unique feature of the Tweedies menu is the Sunday Sharers, where a good old fashioned roast dinner is served up just as it would at home, with the joint and sides placed in the middle of the table for everyone to help themselves.
