The Coniston Inn

In business for over 100 years, the Coniston Inn (formerly known as the Waterhead Hotel) has a long and illustrious history with Victorian artist and social critic, John Ruskin, who was a regular guest, as were many of his associates, including Charles Darwin. Overlooking the spectacular Coniston Water, the 45-room hotel is known for its spacious rooms and excellent food. Thanks to its excellent location, it makes the perfect base to explore all that the stunning Lake District National Park has to offer.

The Coniston Inn provides hearty Cumbrian cuisine with a seasonal menu that changes throughout the year, traditional English breakfasts, and a light bites and brunch menu. Drinks include everything from spritzes, mocktails, local gins, wine, beer, hot beverages, and soft drinks.

Accommodation

The hotel has 45 en-suite rooms available, including double, twin, single, or family en-suite bedrooms with lake or mountain views. There are even dog friendly rooms for a small additional fee per night, as well as secure storage for bicycles. In room amenities include a television, free Wi-Fi, coffee and tea making facilities, as well as an in-room safe and hairdryer.
