The Lodge @ Carus Green

Fancy a hotel room where you can step outside and instantly find yourself on a golf course? Book into one of the exclusive rooms at the Lodge @ Carus Green and you can do exactly that. A former Lake District farm building, the Lodge is home to just seven rooms, and is located at the entrance to Carus Green, a popular 18-hole golf course approximately one-mile north of Kendal town centre. Other nearby attractions include Sizergh Castle, Lake Windermere, and the Lakes Aquarium.

Accommodation

If you want a hotel room with all of the typical hotel services, then this probably isn’t the accommodation for you. However, if you live and breath golf and don’t want to have to travel far from your accommodation to the green, then the Lodge is certainly worth considering. The Lodge consists of seven rooms all housed in a fully refurbished former farmhouse building. Rooms are superbly appointed, styled with luxury modern furnishings and fixtures with neutral colours creating a sophisticated atmosphere. The Lodge has five double / twin rooms and two family rooms, one sleeping three people, and one sleeping four people. Each room is fitted with spacious en-suite marble bathrooms with large, walk-in showers and complimentary toiletries. In-room amenities include flat screen televisions, a hospitality tray, and free Wi-Fi. It’s worth noting that room service is not available.

If you prefer self-catered accommodation, Carus Green is also home to three townhouses and two apartments. The townhouses each sleep up to eight people in four bedrooms. One apartment sleeps four people in two bedrooms, and the second apartment sleeps seven people in four bedrooms. All of the self-catered accommodation includes fully fitted kitchens, as well as lounges and dining areas.

Restaurants & Bars

The Lodge does not have its own restaurant, however, the golf club does have a restaurant that is open to members of the public. Breakfast is served daily between 8am and 11am and is charged separately to the accommodation. A full range of cooked options are available, as well as a selection of cereals, yogurt, and toast. During the day, there is an extensive menu that includes sandwiches, baguettes, all day breakfast rolls, other light bites and a good selection of more substantial classic main dishes. On Wednesdays to Sundays, the restaurant is open in the evenings serving grill style food. There is also a bar that is open throughout the day.

Additional Facilities & Services

For most guests, the main draw of the Lodge is the Carus Green golf course. Here you will find an 18-hole golf course that has hosted PGA events, as well as a driving range with 18 heated bays, a golf simulator room, a golf academy, and a shop stocking all the well-known golfing brands. Guests staying in the Lodge will receive a 50% discount on green fees.

The golf course has a number of function suites, and holds a civil wedding licence.
