The Grasmere Hotel
Charming and welcoming, the Grasmere Hotel is very much a family fun affair. Owners Kevin and Nikki run the show along with their two daughters, which guarantees guests who stay here the personal and attentive touch that so many larger hotels lack. Like so many other hotels in Grasmere, the Grasmere Hotel was built in the late Victorian era as a gentlemen’s residence.
The traditional Lakeland stone building is packed with period features, all of which add to the charm of the accommodation. The hotel sits on the edge of Grasmere, being just a short walk from the village centre, with the lake around 15-20 minutes away by foot.

Accommodation
The Grasmere Hotel has just 11 rooms and with children under ten not being permitted to stay here, this is ideal accommodation for those seeking a quieter sort of break. The rooms have been individually styled so that no two are alike and each one is named after a famous writer with some sort of connection to the Lake District.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, some with walk-in showers, others with showers over baths. In room amenities include a flat screen television, free Wi-Fi, direct dial telephone and tea and coffee making facilities. Single and double standard rooms are available. Superior rooms offer slightly more space, whilst deluxe rooms are generously sized with additional comfortable seating.
Restaurants & Bars
Breakfast is served each morning in the hotel’s small, but elegant dining room, with a wide choice of cereals, pastries, and fresh fruit available, alongside cooked options that are made to order, including a traditional full cooked breakfast. Dinner is served each evening from 7pm with orders taken up until 8pm for a set four-course menu.
The menu is inspired by Cumbrian produce with favourites, such as Herdwick lamb and West Coast seabass, making regular appearances. For those who have special dietary needs, the menu can be adapted and dishes can be made on request if arranged in advance. There is no bar here, but there is a drinks menu with a reasonable choice of wines, beers, gins, and other drinks.
Additional Facilities & Services
The hotel has two guest lounges with plush sofas, games, books, and newspapers available for hotel guests. The hotel has private gardens that guests are welcome to enjoy.
