Grange Hotel Outside

Despite being just across the road from the Grange-Over-Sands railway station, at the Grange Hotel you will feel as though you are secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Set within its own four-acres of landscaped gardens and woodlands, the Grange is a rural retreat in the heart of a busy town. The hotel was purpose built during the Victorian era in an Italian style, and still retains much of that old-world charm. Furnishings and décor are traditional, whilst service is respectful. However, the hotel is packed with modern comforts, including a sumptuous spa.

The Grange Hotel’s Victorian origins means that it blends in perfectly within the surrounding area. Grange-Over-Sands was once a popular Victorian seaside resort, and its promenade dating back to that era provides visitors with an opportunity to experience a classic British seaside holiday. However, for those wishing to go inland and explore the Lake District, the southern tip of Lake Windermere is approximately 15-minutes by car, whilst a trip to Coniston will take you around 40-minutes.

Superior bedrooms contain king sized beds, whilst Executive rooms are larger still, many with four-poster or canopied covers and free standing roll top baths creating a romantic atmosphere. For a truly opulent stay, check into one of the Romantic Suites. These rooms have private balconies, free standing baths in the bedroom area and separate bathrooms, a lounge area, and additional amenities such as MP3 docking stations and CD players.

Restaurants & Bars

The Grange Hotel offers a fine dining experience in its elegant Carriages Restaurant. Crisp white linen, gilded mirrors, and plush furnishings are illuminated by candlelight, providing the perfect setting for the restaurant’s five-course evening meal available for a set price. A two-course meal is also available, and the European style haute cuisine uses many ingredients that have been locally sourced.

Alternatively, the restaurant has a large lounge bar where food is available from 12 noon to 9pm every day. Here you can enjoy a selection of lighter meals, sandwiches, coffees, and classic main dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. A children’s menu and afternoon tea is also available here.

Additional Facilities & Services

The Grange Hotel has two small gyms with enough equipment to ensure you are able to complete a full body workout. In addition, there is a swimming pool that has been styled to resemble a Roman bath, with a hot tub at one side. You will also find a sauna and steam room here. An independent spa therapist offers treatments at the hotel, and these must be booked separately.

The hotel has extensive function suites that can accommodate up to 150 guests for weddings and 250 delegates for conferences, and it holds a civil wedding licence.
