The Queen’s Head has been welcoming visitors to the picturesque village of Hawkshead since the early 17th century. The popular Lakeland town of Ambleside and the charming villages of Grasmere and Coniston are all within easy reach and both Windermere village and Bowness are just a short ferry ride away.

The hotel has 13 luxury guest rooms all of which are en-suite and is proud of its celebrated restaurant, awarded an AA Four Star for the quality of its food. The drinks on offer too will be of interest to many. As well as a range of fine wines, craft lagers and real ales, the hotel has a particularly large selection of rum, whisky and liqueurs.

Accommodation

All 13 rooms at the Queens Head have recently been refurbished and all them are en-suite. The Queens Head may be a 17th century inn, but that doesn’t mean guests miss out on any of the comforts of the 21st century. All rooms have a large flat screen TV, walk-in shower, large comfortable bed and tea and coffee making facilities. One of the rooms is in a beautifully renovated cottage next door to the inn that is perfect for families and where guests are also welcome to bring a dog.

The restaurant at the Queens Head is the proud recipient of a an AA Four Star rating, which is testament to the quality of its food. Each dish is carefully prepared on the premises by their experienced kitchen team using only the best locally sourced produce where possible. The restaurant is open 12-3 for lunch and 6-9 for dinner and is popular amongst guests, locals, and tourists alike.

The bar at the restaurant is popular too. From a wide selection of local ales, craft lagers fine wines and artisan spirits, it’s a friendly place that is a pleasant place to relax and drink in.
