Lonsdale House Hotel Outside

Housed within an elegant Georgian mansion that was built in the late 18th century, this charming hotel is superbly situated in the centre of Ulverston. Ulverston sits in the northern half of the Furness Peninsula, just south of the Lake District National Park. This ancient market town with its cobbled streets and quirky independent shops is home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum and is around a 40-minute drive from the M6.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the town’s train station, and a drive to Lake Windermere will take around 15-minutes. Nearby attractions include the South Lakes Safari Zoo and the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. Furthermore, the hotel benefits from its own secluded gothic style walled garden that provides a delightful place for a drink on a warm summer’s evening.
