Cascades Health Spa and Fitness Club

Cascades Health Spa and Fitness Club forms part of the leisure facilities of the Whitewater Hotel that lies between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge in the southern Lake District. This club is packed with facilities, featuring a gym, pool and thermal spa. Its location on the banks of the River Leven makes this a delightful place for a retreat.

The club is open to residents of the hotel and those with a monthly membership. If you want to attend on a one-off basis you can purchase a day pass for just £10, and this gives you access to all of the facilities in the club. You can also book onto a half or full spa day that includes treatments and refreshments, starting at £45 per person.

Equipment

The gym here is small with just 16 stations of equipment, but has everything you need to complete a workout. There are cardiovascular machines supplied by elite manufacturer LifeFitness, including treadmills, cross trainers and exercise bikes. There is also a small selection of resistance machines, including lat machines and a small free weights area with dumbbells.

Fitness Classes

The club has a dedicated fitness studio and classes are available for members, hotel residents, and other members of the public. If you are not a member, classes cost between £4 and £5 per session. Classes include High Intensity Interval Training, Circuits, Step Aerobics, Body Blast and Ab Attack.

Personal Training

Members will be provided with a personal training and nutrition plan, with on-going access to an instructor for support.

Facilities

The gym is just a small part of this large health club. There is an opulent indoor heated swimming pool that is 18-metres long, 12-metres wide, and a depth ranging from 0.7-metres to 1.5-metres. There are a number of loungers around the pool where you can relax. In addition there is a steam room, sauna, hot tub, squash court and a tennis court.

On the second floor of the health club, there are treatment rooms and a relaxation lounge. Here you can indulge in some pampering, whether it be a massage, facial, body scrub or beauty treatment. With additional specialised treatments for men and pregnant women, there is something here for everyone to enjoy.

Other Features

There is a small café at within the health club serving a range of refreshments and light lunches. Alternatively, within the Whitewater Hotel there is a restaurant and bar serving food all day and evening.
