North Lakes Hotel Spa & Fitness

Easily accessible from junction 40 of the M6, the North Lakes Spa is part of the facilities available at the sumptuous North Lakes Hotel in Penrith. Combine your workout with a relaxing spa treatment and use of the spa facilities for an all-encompassing health and wellbeing experience. This award winning spa has everything you need to maintain your health and fitness.

The facilities at the spa are free to use by residents of the hotel and those who have booked into a spa treatment, with prices for treatments starting at around £37. Alternatively, you can book a one-off visit for £15 - just call the gym for further details. Membership options are also available, starting at around £55 per month.

Equipment

The gym is a medium sized gym with around 25 stations of equipment from LifeFitness and Cybex. There are treadmills, stationary cycles, cross trainers, rowing machines, a Smith machine, and various resistance stations. There is a free weights area with an Olympic bar with weights, kettlebells, dumbbells and boxing pads.

Fitness Classes

There is a fantastic range of classes available at the North Lakes Spa, which has two fitness studios. You must be a member, pass holder or hotel resident to attend the classes, which include spinning, yoga, Pilates, aqua aerobics, body pump, body balance, body combat, body conditioning, circuits, Thai Chi, and high intensity interval training.

Personal Training

Personal training is available through Sculpt Personal Training – an independent provider. Non-members can access personal training at the spa for £40 per session, and this gives access to all of the spa’s facilities on the day of your session. As well as general health and well-being, Sculpt offer one to one sessions that cover Pilates, boxercise, kettlebell training and high intensity interval training. Sculpt take a holistic approach, and offer diet advice and food intolerance testing.

Facilities

Along with the gym, you will find a 13m long pool here, a hot tub, single sex saunas, and a steam room.

Other Features

A full range of spa treatments is available in the spa, including facials, massages (including deep tissue), pre and post-natal treatments, treatments designed for men, beauty treatments including make-up lessons, manicures and pedicures.

The hotel has a restaurant and bar that serves up Cumbrian produce in a dining room with exposed timber beams and real fires.
